Digitek, made by ActavisTotawa LLC and distributed by Mylan Pharmaceuticals (under Bertek and UDL labels), have been recalled due to tablets being twice the thickness they should be and possibly containing twice the active ingredient (digoxin). This high level of digoxin can cause what is called “digoxin toxicity” which can cause nausea, vomiting, low blood pressure, cardiac instability, bradycardia and even death.
Several reports of illnesses and injuries have already been received. Digitek is a very popular drug that is prescribed to treat heart failure and abnormal heart rhythms.
