Over 300,000 cribs manufactured by Jardine Enterprises have been recalled because the wooden slats and spindles are prone to breaking, posing entrapment and strangulation hazards. Already, 42 incidents have been reported; four children got trapped in the space created by a broken slat or spindle. Two children have suffered abrasions.
If you own a crib made by Jardine you should stop using it immediately and contact the company to receive a voucher to get a new crib. The recalled cribs were manufactured in China and Vietnam and were sold in the United States from January 2002 to May 2008. The cribs were sold at Toys R Us and Babies R Us and cost from $150 to $450.
