On Friday, June 27, 2008 the Kawasaki company voluntarily recalled the 2008 model year KFX50 and KFX 90 Youth All Terrain Vehicles due to the following hazard: “The throttle can fail to return to the idle position when released or could fail to be at idle on start-up.” This hazard could result in loss of control of the ATV, causing serious personal injury or death. Approximately 6000 of the ATVs have been recalled thus far.
The recalled vehicles were sold by Kawasaki dealers in the United States from August 2007 to June 2008 for around $2,000. If you own one of these ATVs, please stop using the vehicle immediately and contact any authorized dealer to get the vehicle repaired. Registered owners of the defective vehicles were sent notification of this recall via mail.
