Just before noon today, a Mobile Police Department officer was injured in a motorcycle accident at the southbound Spring Hill exit on I-65.
Mobile police have told News 5 that officer Flavers Williams is expected to be okay, but has suffered some cuts and scrapes from the pavement, or “road rash.” Road rash is a very common motorcycle accident injury, and is often very painful though usually not life-threatening.
Williams’ motorcycle crash involved another vehicle, a Chevy Tahoe, but police have not yet identified who was at fault.
In addition to crime and violence, car, truck, and motorcycle accidents are another danger facing our police officers every day. The law firm of Long & Long strongly supports the Mobile Police Department’s heroic efforts to keep our city safe, and we offer best wishes to Officer Williams as he recovers.
