Target stores, including those in Alabama, are recalling approximately 69,000 children’s sitting stools because these defective products can break and pose an injury risk to children.

The Target recall is for Circo-brand children’s sitting stools sold as part of the Chloe & Conner Collection. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the stabilizing bar can crack and collapse; this poses a fall and injury hazard to children. The CPSC notes multiple reports of the stools breaking, causing children to fall.
The assembled sitting stools measure about 11 inches tall by 11 inches wide by 11 inches deep. They were available in red, white, navy blue and pink. For additional information on this specific recall, please see the CPSC Target children’s sitting stool recall page.
Defective products such as faulty vehicles, dangerous prescription drugs and carelessly made children’s goods are responsible for thousands of deaths and tens of thousands of serious injuries every year.
